Mission

The Association of Machinery and Equipment Appraisers (AMEA) is a non-profit professional association whose mission is to accredit equipment appraisers, such as Walker Machinery. The association aims to promote standards of professional practice, ethical conduct, and market-based experience among its members.

The AMEA has continued to uphold the original set of ethics on which it was established in 1983.

History

Over its 32 year history, the AMEA has grown to include nearly 300 members around the world. The AMEA provides its members with professional designations, industry news, continuing education opportunities, referrals to clients, networking opportunities and discounts on conventions and programs, among other benefits. You can find Walker Machinery in AMEA’s member directory (under Chris Walker).

We adhere to the AMEA’s Code of Ethics and Standards and Procedures Of Professional Appraisal Ethics and Practice in our appraisal process. The AMEA’s standards conform to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice established by The Appraisal Foundation. The AMEA has endorsed the work of the Appraisal Foundation, and is represented on The Appraisal Foundation Advisory Council (TAFAC). The Council is composed of 57 non-profit organizations and government agencies, which represent appraisers, users of appraisal services and government agencies. TAFAC serves to inform the public of appraisal standards and the appraiser qualifications development process.
